One such course that promises to teach you how to get started with affiliate marketing is Affilorama. In this Affilorama review, we’ll look at whether Affilorama is worth your time or if you’d be better off getting your affiliate marketing education elsewhere.
What Is Affilorama?
Affilorama is an affiliate marketing education platform created by Mark Ling based out of New Zealand. Unlike many other affiliate marketing training platforms out there, this one has stood the test of time.
If you check the site’s history on the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine, you can see that the site was created in 2005. It was, at first, an affiliate network similar to Clickbank and evolved over time to become the training platform that it is today.
Affilorama claims to be “the largest affiliate marketing community and training website on the Internet.” Best of all, as you can see on the site’s front page, as shown in the image below, it offers a free membership option for people to try the program before committing to any monetary investment.
So, without further ado, let’s create a free account and dive right in to see what Affilorama offers.
The Affilorama Sign-Up Process
Thanks to Affilorama offering a free membership option, it’s easy to jump right in and get started to see whether the platform is a good fit for you or not. After clicking the join now, it’s a free link, you’re asked to provide your name and email and choose a password.
After doing this, you’re taken to the member’s area with a popover that says to please confirm your email address. You can see an example of how this looks in the screenshot below.
After a quick detour to your email to confirm your address, you’re brought back to a kind of welcome letter with an upsell that offers a guide for $19. Scrolling to the bottom of the page allows you to select to opt-out of this one-time offer and continue to the free member’s area.
Once inside, you’re given the ability to take a tour that introduces you to the Affilorama platform and what it has to offer you.
While the sign-up process does present you with an upsell opportunity, it’s far more streamlined than many other affiliate marketing courses on the Internet.
Unlike many other courses out there, you aren’t bombarded with upsells and downsells after signing up for what appears to be a “free” opportunity. This is a breath of fresh air as it allows you not to feel pressured to make a purchase when all you want to do is see if the product is a good fit for your needs.
What’s inside the Free Members Area?
In my opinion, the free member’s area of Affilorama gives a lot of value, especially when you consider that it’s completely free to sign up for.
The only complaint I have about the free member’s area is that it can be very confusing to navigate. It took me a few minutes to get my bearings and start to dive into all the information on the site.
However, once I got my bearings, I found the platform to be informational and efficient but still just a little confusing. It’s very easy to go down a rabbit hole and look at multiple articles, videos, and forum posts that can quickly turn into hours of lost time.
Honestly, though, this is a very good thing compared to the thin content typically associated with “free offers” and introductory memberships offered elsewhere.
The Affilorama Quick Start Guide eBook
Once you complete the “tour” of the member’s area, you’ll see a download link for a PDF e-book called the “Quick Start Guide to Affiliate Marketing.” This e-book is excellent as it gives a very good summary of the complex topic of affiliate marketing. It’s well-written, to the point, and fun to read. That’s saying quite a bit considering how boring the subject of affiliate marketing can often be.
After reading this short e-book, you will know what affiliate marketing is and how you can make money with affiliate marketing. Also, it even allows you to learn more about affiliate marketing without a website. All in all, this free e-book is one that you can typically expect to find on other websites for $7 or more, depending on where you look.
At the end of the e-book, it encourages you to check out some of the different paid products that Affilorama has to offer. We’ll talk more about these paid courses here in a bit, but for now, let’s continue to focus on what’s available in the free member’s area.
What Else Can You Find for Free on Affilorama?
Aside from the quick start guide e-book, Affilorama also offers a multitude of information for free on topics including:

As you can quickly see, the information included in that free membership for Affilorama is impressive. On top of the courses and training that you get for free on the platform, there is also a remarkable toolkit called AffiloTools that includes some helpful tools that will help you get your online business up and running much more efficiently.
While there is a paid option for AffiloTools, the kit that comes with your free membership is more than enough to get you started with affiliate marketing. It includes tools to allow you to complete keyword research, monitor up to 10 keywords for free, monitor the health of your website, analyze the traffic to your website by integrating Google Analytics, analyze your backlinks, and keep track of your social profiles, and more.
The Paid Side of Affilorama
Affilorama does have a couple of paid options in the member’s area. This is the area where things can get a bit hairy when it comes to the overall Affilorama experience, in my opinion.
The reason is that one of the options you can sign up for, called AffiloJetpack, costs a daunting $997. However, even after spending hours inside the free member’s area, I never felt pressured to purchase anything, not even the $997 course.
Aside from the $997 AffiloJetpack course, the only other paid training product on the site is the “Pathway to Passive” guide for $37. While you see more offers for this guide on the site, it still doesn’t feel overly hyped or like you are pressured to purchase once you sign up for a free membership.
Outside of training, the only other cost to Affilorama is if you want more access to AffiloTools. There are a few different options to upgrade the toolkit that will cost you between $19 per month and $97 per month.
This investment isn’t needed if you’re just starting with affiliate marketing, as the free option is more than enough to help you get the ball rolling with your online business efforts.
Pros and Cons of Affilorama
PROS
Impressive Free Members Area – The information inside of the free member’s area of Affilorama is very impressive. It gives you a very solid base understanding of affiliate marketing and the next steps you should take to succeed in running your own online business.
Impressive Free Tools – The free tools included with AffiloTools are more than enough to get you started with your own online affiliate marketing business.
Upsells Don’t Feel Forced – While you will see offers for upsells, they really don’t feel invasive or forced. You can navigate the platform and learn a lot of information without feeling in a sales funnel.
CONS
Outdated Information – Some of the content included in the free member’s area is very outdated. Many of the articles you will find on the website were originally written in 2012, and there’s quite a bit of content on the forums and throughout the site that is at least five years old.
Confusing Interface – As mentioned above, it can be challenging to navigate the interface of Affilorama. You’ll probably often wonder, “Where do I go now?”
Expensive Premium Courses – While the Pathway to Passive eBook is very reasonable, the AffiloJetpack price point of $997 can be a very daunting investment.
Affilorama Marketing Courses – Try it Out for Yourself.
Unlike many of the other affiliate marketing courses and products out there, Affilorama offers a free membership option that will allow you to try things out for yourself. It doesn’t require a credit card to get started, and your email address is the only personal information it collects about you.
Yes, you will receive promotional offers to your email address. Still, at the end of the day, the platform doesn’t try to upsell you too frequently, in my opinion.
The amount of information contained in Affilorama’s free membership option is very impressive. It can be more than enough to get you started with running your own online business.
The only catch is that it can be a bit confusing, and you must still buy other products and services like web hosting to get your business up and running.
With that said, the Quick Start Guide to Affiliate Marketing e-book is more than enough to warrant the time it takes you to sign up for a free membership and have a look around yourself.
